    G'day Katwigan,

Welcome aboard from a cool, but sunny Sydney. Plenty to read, loads of pics to look at and lots you can learn within the pages here. Settle in, read up, but don't forget to come back here and introduce yourself and letting us know about your railway and modelling interests. Enjoy the camaraderie and banter that is P1MRC.

    Cheers, Gary.

Thankyou all ,sorry for the late reponse, got tangled up with medical issues. Will spend some time browsing the back catalogue of threads etc before diving in too deep.
    Cheers

    Hi all,
Yes Ian vt, " Platt Waz" an't "Babby's Yed" are known to me, having left Wigan with my parents way back in the early 60's to land here in Adelaide, South Aust.
Much of my initial knowledge o'Wiggin stemmed from starting version 1 of my Wigan Wallgate layout with my father many years ago in a shed in the back garden.
Versions 2 & 3 utilized the (then) wonderful WiganWorld web site, While V4 after a further move of house is being built in a purpose built 'Craft Room' 20' x 20' Air cond' and accessed without going outside or up / downstairs. I say Craft Room as my very supportive wife occupies 2/3 of the 8' x 4' centre table for her various paper craft activities while I have a piece in one corner, The layout however circumnavigates the outer perimeter of the room, by some invoking of Modellers Licence a run of approx 200' for a full lap is available.
Activity has been a bit low of late as the Medical Issues involve chemotherapy and Lungs. Enough said about that cos we are beating the daylights out of it !
    Stay tuned
    Kevan

hi Kevan spent my last 14 years at Wiggin prior to moving out to Spain 4 years ago .. well I say Wigan but Bickershaw and Platt Bridge actually . great people thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Wallgate was a favourite venue to take us to Southport and Liverpool whilst the more recent station across the road supplied the Virgin rail transport to Manchester. post up some pictures when you're ready and good luck si thee'
