Started about 4 years ago after looking through a friends scope at Saturn and Jupiter. Gradually updated my scopes and now have an 8" Masakov/Newtonian computerised scope in a small 'roll on-roll off' observatory next to the railway shed.
Here are some photo's of the scope and obsy plus a Moon and every astro photographers favoutite, M42 The Orion Nebula. I'll post some pictures later..

Cheers
Ron

Looks good, facing SSW, not sure on the light pollution as I've not been to the house when it's dark yet!

Love the roll over shed Ron are you able to move this to your new house ? Or will you be building a new and improved one at the new house:thumbs:

I have seen a few down here in Australia where the guys have built the full domed top mini observatory in there back yards
One guy even saw the local council and got approval to build in his front yard :scratchchin:

Hi Chris, yes taking it with me, although I'll position it differently from where it's facing now. More SW than West. Most of my kit is packed and although we are at last getting some clear sky's at night there is a heavy moisture content in the air which takes the edge of some the images.OK on the domes a friend of mine has one and has just motorised it to follow the scope when it's tracking!
Will post up some more photo's when I can. That Moon shot is great mate, what exposure did you use and was it on a tripod??
CheersRon
