Sounds like all had a real good time,

As we used to say in the old days...." a real gasser "......literally by the sound of it.....:scratchchin:

Toto I can see I am going to have to persuade you over to the manual side of point control.

No smoke.....no mirrors or electronic wizardry......it just works and works and then it continues to work.........ask Gary.....that`s what he does too.

Great weekend, and the rumored gas shortages were cured by Gary feeding Toto some of his curry - instant Infra red heating, and tonnes of "Natural Gas".

Morag and I headed back last night, passed through a couple of snow storms, luckily the sat knew where we were

I didn't get many photo's this weekend as we were quite busy, but will post what I have when I get unpacked.

Paul

Like what you have done to the P1MRC 'pimp mobile' Paul !!

Well we will shortly be leaving Elgin for our short trip back to Edinburgh. The weekend was a blast and a little overwhelming considering all the other exhibitors knew of the 'Aussie' coming over ! I'll have plenty of pics to post and a few of 'the kid in the candy store....' I won't say who, but you probably have already guessed it was neither Paul or myself !!

Looking forward to the next round of catch ups in York on Tuesday. See you soon folks.

Cheers, Gary.

As I said earlier a busy but very enjoyable weekend .......

Great to meet up and blether with familiar faces, and quite a lot of new ones as well, and by the time Myself, Gary and Toto had finished talking to the I'm sure I could see blood trickling from their ears.

Word got around about some crazy ozzie, thats come over for the weekend, and were queing up to meet him :avatar:

We meet up in Aviemore on the way up for a spot of lunch, glorious sunshine, with cold winds and the odd spot of hail - anyone would think it was summer.

Catch your own lunch

And of course the tour bus

Scottystitch was kept busy all day Saturday - and was the only one who managed to master those infernal 3 link couplings, while the rest of us pretended to answer questions or in Gary's case take interviews and sign autographs :avatar:

Saturday was rounded off with a curry - Toto mentioning there didn't appear to be any Madras Curries on the menu, and picked a chilli chicken dish, but the waiter said they can add Madras spices, Gary on the other hand picked a Lamb dish, and asked for extra chilli.

A hint to the potency of these two curries, should have been picked up by the fact the waiter who delivered them was wearing asbestos gloves.
Toto found an answer to the global energy shortage by providing plenty of instant infrared energy, followed by copious amounts Natural Gas.

Sunday Morning had Toto drooling and it wasn't anything to do with the curry.

Arry brought along a visitor .......

An English Terrier biting at the heels of an American Bloodhound

Sound and all the extras

Now his nibs is wondering if the layout could have an American feel to it   here we go again :avatar:

Chris - the language barrier was simple - either struggle to understand Gary, or see Tom :mutley2:

Later visitors to the layout were a sound fitted class 08 and 37, touch and go wether they got to stay in the north, or re-sheded to an Edinburgh based shed.

Although our beloved leader has some scheduling to work on, as he now has a GWR Autocoach, so now has to build either the pannier or 14xx - nae rest for the wicked. So the wee pup was press ganged on to passenger duties - see below.

A few of the stars of the Luib Bridge outing

And the big yin behind is David - another one press ganged into work for the weekend

Great to see everybody is having a good time,

There should be some interesting stories to tell when you get home Gary.

I have to say, lads, notwithstanding the three-link couplings, I had a blast. Paul and Toto were so busy chatting about the traversers and the forum, respectively, I got to play with a big O train set for hours!

Sorry about the descent of the wagons into the canal basin, but if the FWD and REV had been programmed correctly on that locomotive........

Also, sorry I had to leave just as the Cobalt appeared to be cooking off. What was the upshot with that?

I'm now trying to figure out how to find the room for an O gauge layout (with magnetic couplings!)

PS I've never seen someone move for their wallet as fast as Toto did at the sight of that Autocoach! :avatar:

:avatar: hi Scotty,

It was great having the extra hands. Apologies if you were left to your own devices for so long. Once folks started talking it never seemed to stop.
The Cobalts were an issue with us having to change two out. The final consensus is that the gauge of the wiring used is too fine.the upshot is that they are going to be retired with heavier gauge wire.
I will also have to look at expansion joints as well as the heat in the hall after a certain time played a part in some issues as well. However, better finding these things out now before ballasting and ground cover etc starts.
All in all it was a worthwhile exercise as it showed up the issues to be addressed. A great weekend and once again, thanks for coming along. You are on the official operators list now. :avatar: no escape. :avatar:
