This is something that I was after in OO scale some time ago but it seem to take an age to come out. I have as you'll know moved onto O gauge so when I discovered that these were available ...... it was a must ....... erm ..... even though I dont know where I can accommodate it yet. :avatar:
Forgive the pictures as I wasn't going to completely unpack this as it is screaming out to have parts lost due to there nature in size.
I will totally unpack the turntable module as some point as I my self am interested to see the various elements of the MDF parts and how they look once unpacked.
For now though ...... here we are.
PS ....... thanks goes out to my Mule ( Paul ) for carrying the MDF modules to the car.
If this sends you too sleep, no worries. Its a monster post.
first up .... the turntable components as the box is opened. There are little bags of all sorts sellotaped at the corners.

and again

dont know what half the components are yet as I have not had the chance to go through the destructions as yet. many of the component packages are named so I'll let you use your imagination.

there are about three layers of MDF there and I suspect when I open them up ...... they will tell a better story.
these look like rail chairs but I'm sure there are more of these as we progress through the photos.

next up is ....... Yep ...... its a doofer.....

more stuff

and more

Ehhhhh ...... and more

yet more .....

and more.....

would you believe ........ more

the above are the main deck sections ..... I know that much ......

and there they are again .........
some of them .......

and these ........

and these stripy things

ahhhhhh ....... these ....

and there they are ......

lets not forget these

or these ......

and certainly not these .......

told you there were more of them ......

handy things these .....

and then we are down to this .....

gives an idea .....

and the deck ...... couldn't see ant though .....
there are further written destructions but I never bothered with them ....... you will see them nearer the time.
HEY ...... WAKEN UP !!!!!!!!!
cheers for now

The modular unit is 600mm from memory and the turntable deck is around 500mm.

Should make a nice kit.

You've certainly bought some cracking kits Toto, get that lot built and you'll be more of a 'Master Builder' than the rest of us put together!
I was wondering if you have any model railway shows in your City as I've never seen a mention of any, though Paul has Dundee ones, and I think Colin W. mentioned one in Inverness.
Keith.

Hi Keith,

Edinburgh must be one of the worst attended cities for just about every hobby. There is a decent club ( the name escapes me ) but no exhibition that I'm aware of which is a shame.

It would be a great thing to kick off but you'd need a minimum of say five layouts to kick one off and a couple of retailers. Even to attach it on to another fete or something just to get it started.

Failing that ....... There are plenty pubs. :avatar:

We used to have one in Chesterfield, it was run by a local club and was very popular, always well attended, some excellent layouts and top traders, Connoisseur models for one! but the venue was council owned and they just got too greedy, it killed the show, it was put on elsewhere but it was never the same.

Pete.

Something could be started but it would probably need to be as an attachment to some kind of existing non railway related fair as a new attraction. Possibly two or three layouts then build on it year after year maybe eventually taking it over. Not easy.

Church Halls are probably the best bet for price, but they want them free for Sundays - go figure :avatar:
