Well we seem to be being told that the postal costs are rising so they can give us better service and quicker delivery time.

My experience of recent postal from with in our local postal service and over seas has proved otherwise

My most recent is still on going more than a month after the item was posted from the retailer by priority air express very expensive as it is a large model, it’s only just started to move again.

The model I purchased was something I had wanted for a while a Rio Grande C19 when a shop in the US had a sale and the P1 Xmas comp was run on, it seemed to be as good as any excuse to finally get the model and the comp was to be it’s Platform1 debut “A White Christmas” some thing we don’t see down under.
In a large scale RioGrande white Christmas scene.
Santa is waiting for the train if he’s lucky it may be out of the postal system by Christmas but I’m not hopeful at this rate it may be in time for next years Xmas competition.

Not very good service at all. Considering you have paid for 'priority air express', I would not entirely be happy and I can understand your frustration.

Gee I hope my order from the US isn't held up like this as I have ordered Jack's Christmas present not long ago... I better buy a back up gift just in case...

Cheers, Gary.

Gary if you used Model train Stuff you should be right until it gets to Sydney
I don’t tend to have problems with there part of the US for shipping anything on the west cost is hopeless
The east Coast in much better and model train stuff is near Baltimore so you should be good unless they get some cold weather.

So what was in the Box a C19 2-8-0 steam loco and thankfully after fitting a few parts not refitted by US boarder control the model is all OK and runs very nicely.
Now it’s been tested and as it took so long to arrive it’s now become my Christmas present and is going under the tree boxed and not as the Christmas theme train as intended

What is a C19, it’s a Rio Grande 2-8-0 built by The Baldwin locomotive company, modelled in 1-20.3 scale by Bachmann USA running on 45mm Gauge track.

Love garden railways, a place to really let your models stretch their legs. I'm very jealous mate, SWMBO would have a fit if I suggested it :mutley2::mutley2:.
