This will be my entry into competition number 8 'a bridge too far'
It will be in the form of a small diorama as I currently have no need of a bridge on my plonks and it will be based on a real single track rail bridge in the UK. It will also be a budget build so I will reveal the costs as I proceed (however it won't include the vino tinto bills). now let me see where do I start :scratchchin:

Oh yes .. the plan (not to scale)

I like your sketch Ian,

It reminds me of Picaso....:scratchchin:

Looking forward to your budget build......I`m thinking about having a go myself but still unsure at the moment.........another shot of Glen Moray may clear the mind.?????

The main span complete using scalescene covered card (TX54) and a quick spray of rust coloured primer. More scalescenes paper to be used on track bed as this is a disused bridge (hence the patchwork welds).

You are not hanging around. A great start. I like the dilapidated look. First class.

Cheers

That's looking great Ian, very realistic. We have two parallel rail bridges at the bottom of our village, one was not unlike your model in appearance, and then surprisingly a couple of years ago, they closed the road and replaced the knackered one with a brand spanking new one, then re-opened the road. Not long afterwards, the route for the HS2 'spur' was announced, and lo and behold, that was the reason for the new bridge, as HS2 will be passing through at 100mph while decelerating into Chesterfield. That, together with a considerable amount of local track straightening was "totally unconnected with the announcement of the new route" according to the Government and HS2! Yeah, and I'm the Queen of Sheba!!! Politicians Eh!
Keith.
