Looking really good Gormo, top job.

Just as well you put the steps in as I didn't think the passengers could escape ! Then again, having a large blob of plastic stuck to your feet doesn't help either...

Cheers, Gary.

The plastic keeps those little people in their place Gary. I don`t want them having dance parties when I turn out the lights.

Cheers
Gormo

I agree Ian. And very unique as well getting away from the usual types that you see. Love the steamies parked up at the platforms as well. A great shot Gormo.

Cheers

Toto

Thanks Ian & Toto,
The platforms were a leap of faith for me. I wasn`t 100% sure it would work. But as Matt pointed out at one stage.....what`s the worst that could happen.....rip it up and start again.....so I am now relieved that solutions have been found to some issues and it`s come good.
I am very pleased with the look of the platform and in the end for me it has been worth the trouble.
The last issue I had was trying to get the white line to look right with pastel or chalk ....masking it or with a rule. When sealer was applied a good deal of it washed away. It still looked OK but not defined enough for my eye. So the old lateral thinking kicked in again.....I made a jig for a snap off blade. The blade was sandwiched between two bits of 3mm MDF and protruded about 3mm out from the MDF. I then ran the jig along the edge of the platform to allow the blade to scrape off the top layer of pastel back to the white sandpaper underneath.......Simple and accurate. I didn`t scrape it clean because I wanted a slightly distressed look, so bits and pieces of grey pastel remain behind.
As I said before on another subject.....there`s more than one way to boil an egg.!!
Cheers

I guess this pic is a reasonable example of the result.

Looks like you can set up folders too Gormo, so you can upload your layout stuff into one , Photos you link in other threads to another and anything else in the main one. That way you know if you have something in your layout one and you delete it , you can look and remove or replace the link. and if you upload some for other threads you can add a note at the time of upload to say where it will be linked so you know not to remove it.

I need to ask Martin / Tany  . . .  If we move a photo from one folder to another, do the links follow it ?

Cheers

  Matt
