Scalescenes "Kit Build Competition" Part Two

Toto has asked me to post this notice up to let all our members know about 'Part Two' of the Scalescenes Kit Build Competition.

Here is a run down of what we need to abide by, including the rules...

Given that the name of the game in Scalescenes kits are their versatility and adaptability and using the same "Free" Scalescenes kits, you can now run riot and adapt, cut, slice and dice, the kits until your hearts content. You can use as many copies of the kits as you like and can mix and match in order to create your own bespoke structure.

This part of the competition is based and will be judged on the following criteria.

1.    Quality of build.

2.    Best use of the kits to produce a totally bespoke submission demonstrating the kits versatility.

The finished product will be a stand alone structure ( or set of structures ) and the only restrictions are that you cannot use back boards or scenic breaks etc to enhance your submission and that once again the amount of base board to be used is subject to the same restriction of 6 (six) scale feet( OO scale - 24mm, N Gauge - 12mm, O Gauge/7mm scale - 42mm ) around the perimeter of each structure.

Any questions or potential interpretations of the rules should be made in the 'open forum' to enable everyone to benefit from any clarification given.

This part of the competition shall see the winner being awarded 35.00 of Scalescene vouchers.

Good luck,

Toto.

Some questions about the Scalescenes build part 2
a. What's the completion date
b. Can water be modelled so long as it complies with the 6 scale feet rule
c. What's the best way to get a broken cork out of my Vino Tinto

Hi Ian,
water can be modeled no problem. The completion date is the 31st July 2016.
Broken cork ........ Stick thin object inside neck of bottle whilst tipping bottle towards your glass. you should feel the cork hitting narrow object. Trap cork between thin object and inside of bottle whilst releasing contents into glass. ......... repeat until bottles contents are consumed.
cheers

Hi Toto ... a friend of mine was wondering if it was ok to use the free Scalescenes Small Goods store that I...? ...he... downloaded some time ago only it isn't available now (he says) but it was free (he also says). I won't use m ... his name as we don't want to give any clues as to what (he) is building.

Ian (for a friend)

Ps I bet that nice Mr Triffid won't mind:scratchchin:

Hi Ian,

The problem there is that everyone will not have access to that kit if it's discontinued. So ..... You ....ahem ..... I mean your friend would have a slight advantage there and you ..... I mean he ..... Or she ...... Or is it the goat ....... Wouldn't want that on your ..... I mean their conscious ....... Would you .... I mean they ?

Toto

A quick question, can we supplement the standard kit(s) with additional brick paper(s) ?

Yes but only to supplement. The original kit or however you adapt it from the supplied parts within should be the feature. The brick paper should only be used to help in grafting multiples of the original kits. The original kits should still be recognisable in whatever form you choose to build it on.
