      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Apparently, Zimo sound chips sometimes freeze. <br />
I lost all sound functions on my O gauge Heljan 56 causing me to do a factory re-set ( CV8 - 8 ) <br />
Now I have no cab lights and the fans make my 56 think it is a helicopter!. <br />
The 56 was bought new this year along with a chip and stored in a wooden box which I keep indoors. <br />
I knew things weren`t right, when pressing function button 1 the lights went out and no sound. The loco operated . <br />
I am waiting on Yoochoos to reveal the solution. <br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Help. We have one of these decoders in a Bachmann Peppercorn A1. <br />
It has been working fine till had to do some cleaning work on the loco and then needed to re-attach the speaker.<br />

on testing, we have now found the loco will<br />
Only go on one direction..  litterally. If you have the sound on it just stops at that very moment the loco should move off. Go the other way and it works fine. This is irrespective of the plug orientation and the CV used to swap forward and reverse. ie it will go one...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[As many are now aware, I&#039;ve moved away from 4mm (00 gauge) stuff onto 7mm (0 gauge) nowadays, but I have a 94 year old pal Bill who is still buying various new 00 gauge loco&#039;s, and I&#039;ve DCC fitted a few of his buys and a couple of DCC sound fits, this Class 37 being the latest one. My default choice of sound decoder is Zimo, as I&#039;ve had past issues with ESU, and normally get sound decoders from Youchoos (others are available!) as I&#039;ve found the owner John Gymer to be very helpful....<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I’ve a Lima class 60 so it’s kinda empty inside. I’ve recently wired it with DCC using a Hornby TTS 60 sound chip, but, quite frankly, it sounds quiet.<br />
<br />
so, on advice from a friend, I’ve stumped up £4.99 for an iPhone speaker which I hear are the new thing to use. It arrived this morning, but alas, I was at work at 12pm and the loco is at my Dads, so hope to collect it soon and make a swap.<br />

I’ll report back on any findings. I could probably have gone for a bigger speaker, (plenty of space...<br />

I have several of the latest version of the Hornby HSTs fitted with TTS chip pairs.<br />

How do I set up on my NCE controller to run the powered class 43 from one set with the unpowered class 43 from another. These are set up as different code numbers, but only one will be responding to power commands, the other just to sound and light commands.<br />
Do I set them up as a consist?<br />

I am considering saving money by fitting Hornby TTS chips into other DCC Ready Hornby locos than those specified and into other manufacturers, particularly Bachmann DCC Ready models.<br />

For instance:-<br />
Could the LMS class 5 chip be fitted into Bachmann Standard Class 5 or Class 4 4-6-0s or Hornby Standard Class 4 4-6-0, and would it sound reasonably correct? I think I could live with minor inconsistencies in view of the cost saving? <br />

Might the J36 0-6-0 chip work in other 0-6-0...<br />

I was wondering if anyone would kindly point me in the right direction for the best sound files available today and from whom i could buy them .
