Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and are all working the excess off. Does anyone here have advice or used Slaters Plasticard nylon brake shoes for loco driving wheels in Gauge O ? Reason I ask is because the clearances on the 9F five foot diameter driving wheels is extremely tight between wheels particulaly with the brake hangers fitted, I cannot find images or any refencesof them being used so wondered if anyone here knew. For the record I need BR Standard design brake shoes and I'm...

I came across Miniprints a few months ago and what I have seen of these as used on fellow modellers layouts, they are great looking products once painted up.

The prints come in three scales, HO, S and O and range from $5.00 USD and up, depending on the model and scale.

In fact I just ordered 7 different items from their vast range of 3D printed models/detailing items.

This pic of the home page shows an assortment of models that can be purchased.

Hi,

A few days ago I ordered FEP sheets for a Mono X, what arrived were 5 sheets 200 X 140, I think for a Mono SE, anyway, they are now sending me the correct items (I hope) and haven't asked for the wrong ones to be returned, so they are going free to anyone who wants them, just cover the postage costs by a donation to either a children's charity or the Ukraine appeal.

I've been looking for a 4mm stove to put in a 1930's station office but was drawing a blank for something suitable. After the "Shapeways" thread from last year I had not considered them, but thought beggars can't be choosers.
Lo and behold I found the perfect one, designed by Platform 1's own Andy Sollis, but it was in the dark side (O gauge)
I messaged Andy and within 2 days he'd rejigged his design to 4mm , posted it on Shapeways and sent me a link to it. http://shpws.me/RICz...

Many if you will by now know that I have been producing 3D Models in 4mm and 7mm and the odd 2mm item. For the last three years I have been very happy using Shapeways to produce my items in two different materials.

End of last year, they did a price restructure.

I will be leaving my shop open with them, but I think I will be looking at future items else where... why? We’ll see why below... this is 4x 4mm palletts, which to be fair, are not much bigger than your thumb nail! But look at...
