I also love the motto that if it looks right then it is right. I am certainly not a purist although I have full respect for those that are. As long as it appears to fit the scene and doesn't look out of...

I have just had a relook at your YouTube articles on train cassettes and I am really impressed with the way you have described your cassettes.

In particular the emphasis on checking that the L section is straight ( I have checked my length and found it has a nice shallow curve which could be overlooked had I not checked it against a ruler.
The other features I liked were the L joining section with prongs and the associated unlocking crank. By having the L join with two...

Dear Gormo,

I have seen some of your YouTube items on the TV via the Apps button, which is how I found out about this site, and I notice that you use carpet underlay on at least part of your layout.

I had considered using carpet underlay purely on the basis of waste not want not, however I felt it was perhaps too soft.

Once upon a time the idea was to use canite ( sugar cane waste once common as school pinup boards ) which used to be available as 6 ft x 4 ft sheets but now only available...
Another excellent video. I think I may try and look into the same software. It does look really user friendly.
Thanks again for sharing yet another enjoyable episode.

Hi Gormo,

A great start to the shed thread. Comprehensively covered like all your builds and tutorials have been in the past which is why you are a natural choice for an ongoing feature.

I only got part way through as Paul insisted that I stop playing about and pay attention and help him as he put the bones of the feature together ( spoil sport ) . However I will tune back in at a reasonable time and enjoy if from start to finish.

Once again, thanks for all the effort that you have put...
