So ... yesterday I was in my garage cleaning up and found some old track. I was putting away stuff that I had used to build my Deltic kit. Whilst building the Deltic I had to do quite a bit of filling plus automotive spray putty (as I reported in that post). The trick was to get the filled sections as smooth as the original plastic finish. Fortunately I had purchased a pack of fine to very fine wet and dry Emory papers (from Ebay). The finest paper (P5000 - I assume this 5000...

Well it was for me, and is simply the best thing I discovered in model railroading in the last 12 months.

Usual disclaimer, I have nothing to do with this product other than being over the moon happy I found it. It's not so much a rail cleaner though, using it in a tiny quantity means NOT having to clean track at all, or at least very rarely.

Before. Due to my current obsession with automation of software controlled trains I was finding I was having to spend way too much time in track...

Well,
Some may recall that my oldest, bestest, newest buddy Gormo posted up a piece of engineering ovation as a solution to his track cleaning requirements.
I just happened to mention that the R & GLR was badly needing a good clean and before you could say " that doesn't half scrub up well " hey presto ........... look at what came through the post.

Apologies if you already have one of these, but having read quite a few good comments about this kit over on ‘that other forum’, I bought one last month and I’ve finally got around to assembling and testing it.
