Some time back I posted that my Dapol Jinty needed a new identity, the number chosen was 47606 which unbeknownst to me at the time was the number of an OO Gauge Triang Jinty produced years ago and to which I had one. Now 47606 was a Stafford based loco (5C) up until 1948 where it was transferred to Stoke 5D and soon after to sub shed Alsager 5E where she remained until 1963. When Alsager shed closed that year the loco was sent to Wolverton Works for some reason presumably as a works shunter then later was withdrawn in June 1965 and sent to Kings of Norwich for scrapping in the October. So here is 47606 abate in model form and hauling a rake of empties down the Wheelock branch at Elton Crossing.

Thanks Toto, I do suspect the 08 will have also to have a new identity soon maybe D4109.

Thank you Gents and thank you for selecting my photo for PoTW... I only posted these up because the sunlight was flooding the studio room and it seemed a good chance to photo a couple of engines which don't often see action. I must get the backdrop finished and see how that works. Incidentally the signal box modeled is very much still in existence at Cheddleton station on the Churnet Valley line... I purchased it on a scrap order from BR Derby disposals for £60.00 way back in 1977 and complete with the original 15 lever frame, but that is another story.

Yes you hear correctly Paul ... just don't ask the Manpower Services Commission on community work job start projects to help re slate a signal box roof.:avatar:... not that that Job seekers programme still exists these days.

Thanks Pete for the comments I'm glad to know the Elton Crossing layout (if you could call it that) :avatar: sets out an enjoyable atmosphere. I've been having a go at sorting out the wire fencing, just noticed how the camera picks up mistakes, I'm using micro fine 0.03mm silver jewelry wire fed through Peco's concrete fence posts... it seems to work ok so far. A pic to follow soon.
