Jon has now weathered the first two signals for the Riviera line project, he’s done a superb job as usual

As you say a beautiful job.

These will go on the centre section of the sea wall project that will represent the centre section that is only really accessible at very low tide.

Great scenery, very evocative of childhood holidays there back in the day - I always wished I could stay in the camping coaches they had there, but had to make do with a caravan instead!

I did stay in the camping coaches a few times, my grandad being a life long Railway man got good rates!
I can still remember now rushing to the window every time a 125 went passed!!
That would have been 1982 and I was just 2 years old!!!

26D1F1D7-330E-49A4-9F3C-5A2BF8428B77.jpeg I made a start on the boards for the centre section today, slight change of plan as it will now be 2 x 4’ boards bolted together,
The sea wall section will now be 2 10’ boards either side of this one bit split on to two 5’ sections.
Having two 10 foot sections will give better views of the Trains.

Phil at Intentio will be replicating this Tunnel mouth for the right hand side of this module ( behind the colour light signal)

I wonder what the reason was for the bore to be constructed in that way... most unusual.

Looking at pictures it seems all the tunnel mouths where constructed in a similar fashion, when the line was doubled most where completely rebuilt with new brick lined and openings.
Why this one was just widened I don’t know. I suspect because it’s part of the hidden section where as the others are on view to the public.

That would make sense to maintain public confidence Steve and it wouldn't warrant investment on replacing the lining totally if widening the bore below the crown was sufficient.
