Hi John, Welcome aboard! Thanks for your kind words - I was quite chuffed to read your post (pun not intended). I hope to get some more "wires" installed over the next week so keep an eye out for another update soon. Ian
Hi everyone! Well I got to spend some more time working on the layout today and I have finished running the cables on the telegraph poles. Now I just need to workout how to attach the lines to the removable buildings - I'm thinking of glueing the ends to a metal strip and fitting magnets in the buildings so they can be easily disconnected. Ian
The telephone wiring looks very good. The idea of using elasticated thread - for lack of a better word - works very well. I think using magnets to hold the wires on removable buildings is inspired.
Thanks John. I decided against the magnet idea and went for bending track pins to form a curved bracket that got glued to the buildings then I fitted a small loop of chain to the end of the 'wires' so they just hook on the bracket. Ian
A good alternative. I've got removable buildings on my TMD so I might just nick your idea and use magnets myself. The only building I can't get inside of are a pair of portacabins where the insides are totally enclosed which means I may have to nick your second idea. All this nicking, please don't call the cops!!
This is an amazing lil layout. So great to see it take form. Great tread to read with plenty of details and tips along the way...was hoping to see it in action. Cheers for sharing.
