Hi all, In the absence of any actual modelling recently, I decided to treat myself to one of these models, just re-released via Hornby magazine. Why? No real reason other than I fancied one! It comes in a rather attractive and stylish box: With the model itself trapped in a two part plastic case inside: I've read lots of comments elsewhere about this model, especially first time around but it looks good to me: Sorry for the poor photos, light is bad! Handrails, brakewheels and lamps/lampirons and pipes are individually fitted, and you get a pair of cosmetic couplings to replace the tension locks. My only gripe was some of the bits had come loose in the box but nothing that a dab of glue won't solve. All in all, it's a really nice model! Matt
Hi Matt, that looks like a very crisp model of a brake tender, there was an O Gauge kit equivalent of this on the bay not so long ago, I nearly bid on it but missed the last call.
It is a crisp model. It's not something I have any need for as my locos are unlikely to require extra braking power with the 2 - 3 wagons that my layout will accommodate but I liked it!
Must admit I preferred the Highland (Perth / Inverness) method, just keep adding Black 5's until you have the required power for up or downhill. Looks a nice model though. Paul
