Not sure how much extra detailing you would be able to get in Andy, access is a bit restrictive. apologies Toto for bombing your thread.
That's what I lot of folk do when they don't have their own layout they test run their locos on a club layout, another option for some chaps is to build a garden layout and radio control it. Others just display their models in cases and sell them on when they get offered a good price They do look nice on the mantle shelf... much better than a couple of Royal Doulton toby jugs stuffed full of pencils and old gas bills or a chipped Beswick horse.
Lovely printing of the fuel gauge, yet an unpainted dash on the desk. There is some brake rodding missing (and pipes) off that back wall.
There is some detailing in the cab Andy but I guess its a case of you wouldn't normally get to see it anyway unlike a steam backhead which is much more visible.
No worries ... Toto should be along some time soon with his pictures. Oh by the way welcome to the forum from a scratch builder in O Gauge.

and being a member of platform1mrc, also allows you to bring your stock along and run trains, hey were not even that fussy, just come along and run trains. And Hattons are doing some good deals on sound fitted 08's only £340, plus approx £12 for a stay alive - Dapol's RTR O gauge loco's use a 21pin DCC decoder, so is easy to add the stay alive. we'll just keep on dangling the bait Paul
Absolutely indeed Dundee Paul and only recently advertised in the Gazette which is only available to O Gauge modellers I saw a fellow O Gauge modeller selling his near brand new Dapol 08 in Rail Blue for £150, the advert stated this loco had only been out of the box for a test run... it even had its certificate of authenticity.
I think Rails of Sheffield are selling them at £150... what makes it tempting. Some even less on fleabay!
How far are you from Sutton in Ashfield Andy. The Elizabethan model railway club there have an O gauge test track. Pete.
About 1000yards in a straight line! It’s more difficult with shifts and kids, but I have thought about it.
