Recently, I achieved the dubious honour of reaching 40 years service, and fortunately rather than getting a clock or watch, we got to choose our own gift, and Mine has arrived. We have an Avonside Works (from Eileens Emporium) Chassis 2 Super Pro chassis jig (5 axles for O gauge with additional pin set for 1/8th & 2mm axles (OO / EM / P4). And an instruction CD that Toto has already told me I have to read then explain it to him - nae rest for the wicked. Paul
When I managed 25 years service a few months before I took VR, I was given a cheque for £200 (in the same envelope as my redundancy cheque!). Keith.
Nice one . When I finished with voluntary redundancy I was escorted from the plant to make sure I didn't nick one of the fractionation towers. Mind you they didn't see what I liberated on the last few night shifts Cheer's, Pete.
Well done Paul, Sadly Austerity did away with any sort of long service awards in local government here in Wakefield.
25 & 40 year long service award ceremony, 16 of us and partners flown down to Stoke for the combined event, then 5 weeks later we get told the factory is to close, now there is a kicker to round of the event.. It was a great event, and I decided I wanted to get something that I will use regularly doing something I enjoy and remind me of the great guys (and gals) I've known and worked with over the years. Now I just have to do the jig justice - and learn how to use it (yes I know - then show Toto ) Paul

Nice find, I have seen them used elsewhere on this forum, but before I take a punt with you, why DOUBLE prong?
I use them all the time and the double prong allows you to grip either side and solder in the middle if needed or in the case of steps on the end of a coach you can use one clip to act as a heat sink for two steps while you solder another on. The clip stops the bits previously soldered on from dropping off due to heat in the proximity. - Being an adherent of the microflame for as much soldering as I can, I make extensive use of heat sinks and this type of clip is ideal for that purpose.
