Well, I’ve made a start... I’ve spent a long time laminating, and it seems I’ve laminated some parts for later on in the kit as they were on the first sheet, so it’s slowed progress...
I then found I should have used 2mm card, not 1mm.

    Hey ho.

    Here we are thus far.

Funny enough, my Model Rail magazine came today.

    Guess what’s inside.

Maybe, maybe not... I’m saying nothing.:avatar:

Tell you what though... changing some of the parts to proper material (for depth) this would make a great minimum space layout in 7mm!

Well I made some progress last night at work, got threatened by a colleague to get tasered as I was wheelding a knife (but as another colleague pointed out, I was using it for work purpose not to threaten! :giggle::giggle:)

    D7BB1ECB-C1A5-4AB4-8147-965F5B8884A4.jpeg

However, my Pritt Stick (trade name intended) ran out so I popped in and picked up a replacement from the local shop...

Don’t!!! Don’t bother with these.. yes, it was 30p but frankly, it is going straight in the bin as there is no stick to the adhesion at all. Yes, it’s Sainsbury’s.. and it’s 5h17e!! 55D9A8C8-3E26-4E60-9E8B-F301BDBF67A7.jpeg
So I’ll be getting a replacement later from TESCOs :hismiley: later :avatar:

I’ve been Wilco’s and got a pritt stick now. All glued up - just leaving some bits to set...

Once this first bit is done I may look to start some trackwork in the box, but as the box is being used to carry stuff in too, I don’t want to start cutting it up yet.

To be fair, I never looked at the price until after I had paid for the packet of M&M’s for the night shift...:avatar::scratchchin:

I then thought it a bonus... at least it was only 30p :faint:

Section A is nearly complete. Just need to sort out the windows.

Hi Andy can I ask how you modelled the lintels on the building as I’m modelling some factory windows soon.

They are pre printed, only the window above the blue door so far has a lower sill overlay, the top one is already on the brick overlay.

Still to add the doors on the loading bay. Then glue up. Just working on the drain pipes. I’m not using flat card here but replaced with a cocktail stick

Thanks Andy for the information. Cocktail sticks do come in handy for modelling drain pipes.

Spaghetti also works well for down pipes, marker pens colour them up nicely, need to check your supplier as they make in different diameters - so much for EU standards :giggle:

Looking good Andy. I've just finished the track laying and wiring so I hope to get to the buildings soon. As far as the windows go, I'm planning to print them on tracing paper so they will look frosted and dirty but still let some light through.

You are certainly punching along with the build Andy, and it looks great so far.

    Cheers, Gary.
