    Hi Pete,

The BR vans went together nicely but I did have a little bit of filling to do on one of the cattle wagons - not sure why it was only the one though.

Bob's wagons are now well under way with just a few jobs remaining before I can get them on their way to him.

    Jobs still to do are:

    Fix on the roofs
    Add additional weight
Weather the underframes of the cattle wagons
    Weather the vans.

I hope to have the weathering, and weight completed tonight.

The Slaters Wagons are finally complete and although I have enjoyed the building of them I am glad that they are finished and will be delivered to their owner next weekend at Bristol Show.

They are to be used on a Layout called Hobson's Brewery, hence the faint 'ALE' branding on the cattle wagons.

Here are the official portraits of each van.

Sadly Paul Barlett informs me that running number B68501 belongs to a steel mineral....but I am sure that I took the numbers from the ranges supplied in the Slaters instructions - all things BR not being my strong point.

    Thanks Gents,

I was a bit surprised at how much more work there was to the LMS cattle wagons. I have previously built 3 of the former Midland versions from Slaters kits and I don't recall adding all the etched bits that these needed.

Yep Andy I've seen Rob's rolling stock close up as it were and you have to actually see it for real to appreciate the detail, I think that's something Rob Riley would admire seeing as he too invests time in micro detailing his Mark 1 and Mark 2 scratch built coaches.

Andy I sent Rob an invite to pop in having a look at what we are about because I think his garden railway is beyond superb and folk here would love to know more about it, so I'd love to welcome Rob in joining us at some point.
