Hi Toto & York Paul. Thanks for the welcome. I am building a small (48`` x 15``) shunting layout set in a dockyard with planned cassette fiddleyards at each end. I have built the baseboards from 9mm ply screwed and glued. The track is peco 100flexitrack glued and pinned to cork floor tiles. In part of the area the track is to run through cobbled streets and quayside. I have not decide how to create the cobbled yet, possibly Das clay imprinted using a former roller. I have built platforms and a factory from scalescenes downloads with more buildings based around their kits planned. The points are operated by servos and Merg Servo4 boards. I intend to illuminate the buildings and platforms with LEDs driven by Merg gas twinkle boards. The period I am setting it is post WW1 /pre grouping. I intend at some point to build a steam freighter to sit at the quayside, however I am still searching for plans for a suitable prototype. When I have more time I will post some photos of what I have done so far. Roger. .

Roger and a warm from Dundee. The layout sounds good, have you looked at Greenstuff textured rolling pins, I have used them on Another Bridges's Retaining walls post #37 onwards. I used Hobby Crafts Clay, but found that placing a damp cloth over the outside face helped to reduce the tendancy to warp and crack. An alternative is to use Scalescenes Cobblestone brick papers stuck on to card (see Victoria Road), then the card trimmed to shape and glued on to the baseboard. As Code 100 track is approx 4.5 to 5 mm high and the rail is approx 2.5mm high you could stick the brick paper to foam core board, and between the rails use 2mm thick grey board.
