I’ve purchased this kit last week and made a start on it. (Photos will follow)
What is not made clear is that you actually get a single and double road shed in the kit  so what was going to be a 2 road shed is now going to be a slightly different shaped shed - long two road and a shorter single road along side.
The back walls have been built (with the apex’s) but I have a number if internal and external walls to construct.

    Started sheet one.
This gave me one wall and all four ends as it will be a long two road shed with a shorter single shed built along side.

i will post some progress builds shortly as I’ve not taken any as I’ve progressed - which is unusual for me! (Mainly as some was during the motor racing)

So I started reading the instructions...
Do it again.. and again.. and still I missed a bit where it tells me that one side of the roof IS stuck to card - mainly as following on from the boxfile kit (which had skin alternatives) I thought the inside and outside panels of the roof were actually options, not actually both required.

anyway, I’ve not started the roof, so no damage done! :)
So, we started on the sides. I made the smaller side up first, there is an internal and external side and the windows (which I have yet to print) are placed in between before they are secured together.

I have then progressed on to the next wall, which is both internal and external so the windows will be an outside face, but the cut outs on the white panel are internal and match the back of the shorter single road shed. There is one more wall to make, which is yet to be cut out etc, but will be all windows as per the first panel (but 3 bays long to match the middle wall)

moving on, I switched to the ends. A small single doorway and a double entrance. Note I’ve modified the back wall here as I didn’t want it open, so using a spare panel from another wall, and the door ways not cut out on the main card panel, made it look like it has simply been bricked.

these have had the internal and external faced already glued together and there are no windows on these panels.

by the way, for a £4.99 kit I’ve probably printed around 40 sheets of A4 and two sheets of card (at about £2.99 each from the range)

    more soon.

Andy I would say that’s value for money. The walls and ends of the building are nicely done.
I must try one of these card kits sometime.

    Hi Andy.

Looks good so far.... I'm a big fan of the Scalescenes kits having built 2 of their offerings. Looking forward to seeing your engine shed progress.

    Andrew.

I’m inclined to agree. Good fun and time consuming. Which can be a good thing.

the negative is curved walls. :scratchchin: But I think that will come good once it’s all together.

Yes, after doing the boxfile kit earlier this year I was happy to give it a go. Personally, I feel that card kits lack some definition, but... I think the scalescene kits actually recapture some of it... yes the mortar may not be recessed like plasticard etc, but it’s also not a flat surface like some card kits before it.

Progress has been slow the last couple of days due to one thing or another. Two sides of the three are now complete (although there is still some internal wall detailing to be done- such as something of a lintel and support above the access ways between the two sheds.

    please excuse the clothes pegs.

I'd laugh if you put a fully finished model engine shed back into Lisa's peg bag by mistake. :avatar:

Last night was spent printing the windows on acetate out and gluing the first (small) wall up.

    F11DAA92-3E0E-42D3-B9AB-868EE2D0A014.jpeg

it’s still awaiting the gutterings at the top before I can say it’s complete.

this morning after taking the car for an MOT, kids to school and catching up on strictly come dancing! I’ve glued the larger wall up (but used ova to secure the two halves with lots of pegs.

    CD093F8B-D985-4BDE-A199-09BC0C051409.jpeg

It’s still needing the truss plinths making above the openings, and the long concrete beam above the opening.

    D8DBDBEA-B6C9-4B6D-AA53-878C93990483.jpeg

lastly, I’ve just glued up 5 sheets of roof trusses. Probably tonight’s job.

I’ve still have the 3rd wall to produce.

meanwhile, nice walk whilst waiting for the garage.

Lovely engine shed work progress Andy, when you print these sheets does the glue not affect the ink? This is not something I do so am interested to learn how you do things and what materials are used.

Looking good Andy, those roof trusses are great. Are you going to light up your shed? This week I got around to illuminating my engine shed, makes for a really atmospheric scene. I'll post up some photos later.

It’s an interesting question in fact. as most is glued card to paper then paper to paper with a pritstick, it’s not getting wet etc. as it may with PVA- the paper is also laser printed in colour so the ink has been heated on to the surface (I believe) - so thankfully it doesn’t have an affect on it.

The wet glue, PVA, is only used on the internal sections where it’s card to card and then clamped

the hardest part is cutting it all out.
