    Good morning York Paul,
We possibly are making Butterley either on Sunday or Monday after Peterborough Show which is on Saturday April 4th not sure as yet will let you know on that. We would also like to visit Echills Wood Railway where they have a 7.25 Gauge railway. There are a couple of other railways around the Midlands that we could visit, but that's wether we have time.
    Regards,
    Gloria.

Statfold Barn near Tamworth is well worth the visit if they are open. Also Amerton railway not far from Stafford.

or if you fancy full size, the Churnet Valley Railway

    Good morning Andy,
Thank you ever so much , Yes Statfold Barn is the other one couldn't think of the name at time of writing. They also have a 16mm garden railway as well I think from what I read.
    Regards,
    Gloria.

Just make sure when Gloria turns up that you are rostered on duty as a guard so you can get her a free afternoon tea in the Froghall refreshment rooms. :avatar:

    Hi Pete,
Will do , Hope to meet you at Peterborough as well if you can make it.We are not sure about York ourselves at present, all depends on the time factor, and what's happening down here now. As you mentioned a busy week -end for us. We are hoping that with all this terrible weather we are having will soon clear I have work to do on my own 7.25 railway carriage and loco.
    Regards,
    Gloria

I know what you mean about the horrible weather! I haven't been in the shed for a few days, it's been too cold and miserable! Plus I have been sorting out my van as the mot was coming up soon, thankfully it passed :headbanger: mind you it cost me £440 as the rear brakes had to be replaced completely .

    Cheer's, Pete.

    Hi Pete,
Gosh that is a lot of money to fork out for brakes. I bought a complete set of discs and pads for under a £100.00 front and rear for my Nissan Leaf. Nissan wanted £160.00 labour plus the cost of fitting the front ones some garages are a rip off as they know brakes are essential on every vehicle With Nissan it would have cost me well over £500.00 to have both sets fitted. My partner took it to our friend who owns a garage and quoted £60.00 to 120.00 to fit them all depends on time factor. Glad your van passed its M.O.T mine is due the end of this month along with its service. Yes we have another storm going to hit us overnight here with winds up to 60 mph. Want to get our garden sorted for a steam up sometime don't know when though. Be glad when summer comes if we have one.
    Regards,
    Gloria

Christ! What is it ? Rolls Royce?

most brake discs are £40 average and £20-30 for pads (as a pair)

who charge you all that in labour?

Hi Andy most I think in Pete's case is Labour.Nissan wants £160.00 labour plus £60.00 per wheel on my EV Nissan Leaf.

It was the whole shebang for the mot, the discs and pads I had already bought for £60, but when the mechanic dismantled them he found the calipers were seized, now I could have got a pair off evilbay for £22 each but as it was already dismantled I opted for getting a pair from my local factors but they wanted £65 each! the labour was obviously more as more work involved but it needed doing as the mot had to be done, there was more work for the mot as it failed on some minor work, sorted the next day, labour only, £60 plus the mot fee, £45, it soon all adds up but its cheaper than a new van.
The van is now sorted, if I was to swop it, it would only be for someone else's benefit.

    Pete.

    Good morning Pete,
I bought my complete set front and rear with brake pads the rear pads I had to buy separately from Ebay. My front discs are pitted according to my last M.O.T it was an advisory notice so thought I would buy the set for this year's M.O.T we don't use the brakes very much as an E.V is fitted with a braking device there is no gear stick like an ordinary car just either push the lever into drive brake or reverse. Will show you if we decide to take it to Peterborough as we have to find charging points to go to Derby on the Sunday. Cost for repairs can be very expensive especially Nissan. It is true what you say why spend money for other people's benefit Glad you got it fixed now though and you can enjoy driving it knowing it is safe.
    My kindest regards,
    Gloria.

    Hi everyone,
An update on my carriage shed build I have put the painted window frames in and added the top sides. The frames are not fixed permanently as the glass has to be fitted and interior lighting. This is my own design and built from scratch as in my previous updates. Here is a couple of photos.Sorry to say the photos are not ever godd quality
    Regards,
    Gloria.
