Hi this diorama build will be based on a little lamp hut besides a length of track. The diorama base is made of solid oak is 4”x4” in size. As you will know I try to add as much detail as possible and I am looking forward to sharing this build with the forum. This is special as it’s going to be a commissioned diorama where the proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s society.
Hi there Bo-Bo... sorry I seem to have missed this new posting... so it all sounds like a great way to raise support for a great charity, so all the very best with this build.
Hi Yorkie thanks for your support and comments, I have started the little diorama by adding the track and the fenced area. I will add a picture tomorrow in better light.
As promised a picture of the progress on my diorama. The track has been laid and weathered, the fence has been painted then erected in its place. Today I have built and started to paint the little lamp hut and a small stone section has been painted ready for weathering. This is for the lamp hut and surrounding area.
Looking good...! Just be careful with any sharp edges on those rails as they are lose to the beveled edge of the timber base. Cheers, Gary.
I have managed to do a little more work on the diorama. The little lamp hut has been painted and weathered and glued in its place. Hopefully today I will tackle the ballast work. Im happy with the way the diorama is looking. Here are some pictures of my progress..
Congratulations on making POTW Mark... well done on that and all for a good cause same as 'im above said.
Hi Paul I can’t believe I have won picture of the week thanks to everyone who thought I was worthy of this. Thanks for the nice comments Paul.
This morning I have been adding the grass to the little lamp hut diorama. It’s always nice to get some greenery down..
Superb job Mark... I'm really liking the grass which adds in a great colour contrast...what a refreshing different take on model making.
Yorkie thank you for the lovely comments and thanks to all for the likes. As for the diorama I have added some detailed items. I hope to have a couple more photos up later today.
