Hi, A few days ago I ordered FEP sheets for a Mono X, what arrived were 5 sheets 200 X 140, I think for a Mono SE, anyway, they are now sending me the correct items (I hope) and haven't asked for the wrong ones to be returned, so they are going free to anyone who wants them, just cover the postage costs by a donation to either a children's charity or the Ukraine appeal. Mossy
Sadly not Paul. The Mono doesn't use the same system as the mono X. Instead of sandwiching a new FEP between two metal retaining rings, the fep comes pre tensioned between two plastic retaining rings as an assembly, all of which is thrown away when its replaced. A picture explains it better:
Will do a little checking, but I'm sure I saw someone selling the metal frames for the Mono, allowing normal sheets to be used. Paul
Paul Thank you, $20 for 2 feps is a bit steep especially when you can get just the film quite cheaply. Mossy
Found this link But as its a download, not sure if its just a set of drawings, a 3D print or something totally different. However, I think you can use a Mono SE vat in the Mono, maybe worthwhile checking. Amazon link for Sovol replacement vats Video for the fitment Paul
Andy, Yep it's £20 for 5 fep sheets for the mono x, but it's $20 for 2 fep sheets with their plastic surround for the mono from Anycubic and 3rd party replacements are pretty much the same price. A rip off! I have ordered one of the resolv resin baths with steel fames as suggested by Paul, it will pay for itself very quickly. No more $20's to Anycubic. Mossy
Just as an aside… how do you guys clean your vat when you have had to empty the resin? Had a part fail, drained and filtered the resin, soaked in ipa and part has lifted, but I get left with white bits (presume resin in the ipa at the bottom of the FEP sheet…) what you wipe out with?
Cheap kitchen roll, ipa but not the beer and elbow grease and yes after 2-3 times there's a white ring where the FEP butts up against the frame but it doesn't seem to cause any printing problems.
