    G`day Folks,
    Had a thought this arvo.
These disposable masks that we have had to wear for Covid are made from interesting material that might be useful for wagon tarps.

Once you cut the banding from the top, bottom and sides, you are the presented with three layers of thin material that, once airbrushed, would look like a canvas tarp.

There are various methods on YouTube for producing tarps, so this material may be worth a try for any of you considering making your own.

Probably a good idea to get rid of the old ones Chris, but you could use a new one for tarps.....:scratchchin:

I have seen tissue paper being used for tarps...the trick is to wet it with iso alcohol and let it settle over a load then set it with white glue.
Never tried it myself but it was said, the finer the paper product the better the result.

    Yes that`s right Chris,
Plus there are other methods out there, you can even use plain A4 paper printed as tarps and them crumple the life out it to give you a used effect.
    An example attached

I have used tissue paper although not the tissue paper used for facial tissues, in the past (30 years ago...) to cover one of my HGM/HGX bogie open wagons. It worked well. I bent a piece of wire up first to sit inside the wagon and the ends were glued into position. The tissue paper was draped over the top and wetted with a ballast solution. After this dried, I trimmed the lower edges and added cotton as ropes/tie downs with a spot of super glue. This was then painted with a wash of colour and let dry.

    Cheers, Gary.
