Spokes etc are part of the casting - for example for a 9F inO gauge - £227 ish for a full set

And then you have to machine them, and add axles crank pins etc, etc
    Slaters would cost £201.50

    Hello ...... I return .....

I'm going to see if MOK are doing wheels for the Q1. Sure more expensive than slaters but the quality are head and shoulders above. At least they dont rust a couple of days after taking them out of the packaging.

And yes Dundee, there is no chance of me wasting this kit by putting a mashima 1833 in it. I dont mean to decry them but given the cost and quality of the MOK kit, I think the e tra money would be well spent. It could be a Santa job. I have not bought anything for ages ...... unless you count a kilt, cakes, function venue, wedding dress, rings , ....... blah blah blah...... yes, I think I have earned plenty good boy tokens over the last couple of months.

All advice on your dream motor and gearbox suggestions are welcome.

Your under the thumb, captured and well and truly skint flounder

I would check the instructions to see what the it was design to accept most of them are designed around ABC units which are hard to come by at the minute as Brian Clapperton seems to be winding the business down. As an alternative I would suggest either one of the former Ron Chaplin Units sold by MSC or Slaters the issue might be getting one in your needed configuration. The MOK 8F has an inline gearbox rather than the more usual L shape that we tend to be used to.

For example the one on the right is the gearbox for my 8F

Like the 8F the Q1 is designed to use an In-Line RG7 or ABC equivalent (Mini7E)

Looks like were both after the same motor.

    Santa I asked first ......

Yep from your destructions ......... well he failed the first test, which I find unusual as you normally jump to the last page to find out the ending, it's on page 13 & 14 the last two pages :avatar:
