I just fancied making a portable layout when we got locked down. So I sold all my super expensive Lenz DCC stuff which had become out of date (for more than I paid for it) and went down the DCC++ route. A box of flexi track and stuff I had in the garage and Essex Brick was born. I wanted to 3d print every thing possible to challenge myself and it has all been worth it. I think I would be further on in finishing but I decided to join with my m8 and make a YouTube channel and showcase my techniques for the benefit of others. Well worth it. Maybe one day I will show it, if I get an invite. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn2oLJrPsTWksH5S2Qy2N7g
I have designed my own chassis. The train must have 2 parts, the motor chassis and a decoder/stay alive chassis. Some of the loco bodies and the wagons just pop on top of the chassis.
