Just for information UK pole arms are square section 2 1/4 X 2 1/4 inches.

    I do like your insulators.

Is that everywhere? I’ve defiantly seen variation on that on the NSR, but couldn’t say the size. Although it could well have been a later error!

Definitely what the GPO used and most of the ones I’ve seen elsewhere but I wouldn’t like to say everywhere. There is a huge amount of strain on the arms in all directions.

Most of the through insulators where a wire is just attached as it goes to the next insulator were domed. The top of the flat top version usually unscrewed so two wires could be joined. The wires were firmly attached to the insulator then the ends passed through holes into the hollow top. The wires were joined then the lid screwed back in place. You more than likely know this.

The v3B telegraph pole is now done.. it’s not as neat as I would have liked, but some of that may be hidden once painted..

    here’s how it was done..

    IMG_3111.jpeg
The insulator pot is glued to the end of the wire. Same again at the other end and x3 to make the 6 (mass produced)

I then curved them around the end of the file to form the loop.

All six trimmed off and the arm ready to fit to. You can just make out the 6 holes.

    and done.

quick UV cure and secure to the post.

You won't go wrong with that system Andy... might drive you insane if you do a complete pole route but it won't look wrong :avatar:
