A little bit more done today,
Both hedges are now fitted permanently.
The earthworks ( raised garden area ) was trimmed once again to allow for the thickness of the hedges and also to allow a trench to be created for the wall to sit in next to the track.
Once the earthworks were finally sorted, I hit it with the static grass. Unusual way to do it, for me at least, I would normally put the earthworks down first and then do the static grass, however this time I did it out of order to avoid getting static grass all over the hedges.

I also back filled around the concrete plynth that the footbridge stands on with a Grey, fine ballast.
Then started on the garden making displays of flowers / shrubs. More to come in this regard as it `s a work in progress.

The wall that will skirt the area was given a brick sheet covering.......not complete yet, it still needs brick piers and a cap on the wall

The wall is just sitting in place at the moment with some slight pressure on it to encourage it to bend gracefully without too much trouble when the time comes to glue it in place.

    More as it happens

    Hey Gormo,

Just been catching up with everything you've been doing since Christmas ... amazing (as usual). I especially like the electric gates. The results you achieved with the gates are as good as anything I've seen (so who needs Arduino's).

Your footbridge looks like the old Airfix kit ... is it? Some Trivia ... the old Thunderbirds (are go!) TV series used heaps of Airfix railway footbridge kits for creating some of the fantastic scenery in those shows. You can see many footbridge sections in the background behind Thunderbird 1 when it takes off from Tracy Island. They used parts from many other Airfix kits as well. Whoops ... I'm showing my age.

I think Bamford is significantly raising the bar for the older sections of Great Chesterford (which are still great). But, you didn't ever want to finish the scenery on this railway ... did you ???? :giggle:

If you look carefully, it was pointed out (as you say many reused items) that one was an orange squeezer!

    Thanks Richard,
Yes I rather like the way it sits on the track, it has some sort of presence to it.
That was a restoration project some time back and the repairs have lasted well so far.

    G`day Chris,
Yes it is the old Airfix kit, now Dapol, and is up for modification soon and hopefully will not look quite as heavy......we`ll see.
Model makers for movies are still using massive amounts of model kits to adapt for film, however these days they also have the luxury of the 3D printer.
No the scenery and the railway will never be finished in my mind. There will always be parts that need an update or renewal.
I have at least two projects in mind in that regard already......hang on just thought of another one.....make that three....:scratchchin:

I found many years ago that you can combine all sorts of everyday things together to make, possibly a model space ship.
When you first put them together ,they look like a hotch potch of everyday things trying to look like a model spaceship.
However when you paint / spray the model it transforms the parts into one cohesive whole thing that fools the eye into thinking that they were always meant to be together as a model spaceship.
