    G`day Folks,
Well I`ve come down with a short case of Mojo-itis over the last couple of days.
I guess the weather didn`t help ?.....but with a cool change upon us now, my enthusiasm seems to have lifted.
This is my second attempt at a board crossing. My first attempt was done with a very thin Balsa, I scored it and painted a few bits, but realized in the end it was too thin, so it never even got to the track
Today I tried a slightly thicker sheet which stands up to the scoring rather well and is just about near perfect height wise for the track.
The long expanse between the point and the platform road had to have packing below it.

The boards have been painted with El Cheapo Burnt Umber Artists Acrylic from Aldi.
You can add it thin or thick to vary the tone on Balsa and it gives a rather natural look.

I think I may extend it across the other two tracks in the background to give an easy access across the tracks for Signal Box staff and or Cattle Dock / Goods Shed staff as well.

    IMG20240206171543.jpg

Also need to work out some appropriate fencing with gates to stop every Tom, Dick And Harry from just wandering across the tracks
    More as it happens

Then started working on extending the wall across the baseboard join.

    Thanks Gary,
Yes signage will be very important for the crossings and I think I actually have some in my archive from when I`ve done other projects.
    Must seek them out.
    PS....here`s a couple I have

    G`day Folks,
    More progress today.
A long length of brick wall ( 800 mm ) has been brick papered and brick piers added.
The piers are a mind numbing job on something this long, there are 28 on each side of the wall.
    Pics below.
The wall is not securely set in place yet as the piers on the other side are freshly applied

    IMG20240211162756.jpg

And looking back towards the station

    IMG20240211162841.jpg

The next stage is to set the wall securely in place and then apply the capping.......so folks.... one step at a time.

I wonder if graffiti was prevalent in those days? Nowadays such a nice place to "practice" ones "art" skills...

    G`day Folks,
    Still moving forward.
The new wall was set in place permanently last night and this morning I released all the weights and stays etc. to allow me to approach the wall capping.
The wall capping is cut ( 6mm width ) from medium thickness grey card and is then coloured with graphic markers.
The capping is approx. 175mm lengths which are butt joined on top of the wall.
PVA is used to secure the capping and it is temporarily held in place by little clips I got from our Newsagent.
Adding the clips one at a time and moving right to left persuades the card to adopt the same curve as the wall

I think that the advent of the rattle can paint spray and it's adoption by those with nothing more to contribute but tagging to show how few brain cells they have sparked the rapid rise in such vandalism, unfortunately it has become a competitive sport (or maybe a territorial thing) in their tiny selfish worlds where they try to out do each other which makes it even worse.

It was probably too much like hard work to scratch their marks into objects and carrying pots of paints and brushes around was inconvenient for the poor intellectually challenged souls, bless them, so rattle cans allowed them to express themselves.

Some undoubtedly have artistic skills, but unauthorised application to public and private property is not the canvas they should use

I wonder if any of them eventually mature enough to see it for what it is when they get older, vandalism :scratchchin:

    Jim :)

G`day Train Tragics and Fellow Model Railway Fans,
I`ve embarked on another kit build to be placed to the left of the railway terraces that disguise my control panel on Bamford.
The kit is the Scalescenes garage as per the pic below.

    Screenshot from 2024-02-14 19-19-45.png

I feel it will suit the space nicely and it`s weathered / used look will suit the location next to the railway.
I`m guessing passengers could drop off their car for service in the morning before catching the early commuter down to Great Chesterford.
The signage with the kit indicates that the business also sells cars, so that`s another opportunity for cameos.
Of course building the kit is not exclusive to current developments around the footbridge area and will just fit in with the work flow.

I am intrigued to know what delightful added extras it will have once you have given it your magic touch.

    Not sure yet Brian.
The kit is very good as it is and should not need any modification apart from the roof.
I am considering changing the roof to corrugated iron to give it more texture.....we`ll see..?
