    Hey guys and girls.

As I mentioned in the Sandford thread, I'm looking at either selling the layout or ripping it up.

This is draft 1 of my new project Newton Haven (to be decided)
If you got the joke about Sandford's name, you'll appreciate this name.

It's a LNER N gauge exhibition layout based between Newcastle and York.

The proposed layout is 6000mm by 3000mm, made up of 6x (1500mmx1000mm) scenic boards and 2x (1500mmx250mm?) fiddle yard boards.

The idea is to have something happening on each board to allow for a good view during an exhibition.

On the right side of the board is a colliery with run through coal trains, I will try and have shunting and a train loading coal continuously. The little run around is hidden behind a back scene.

The middle section is a city with a large station, there are the two mainline's passing through and then two shorter loops modelling shorter local trains, these pass by more often and give something for the viewer to look at constantly, the little fiddle yard is hidden under town scenery and a back board as are the tighter curves.
There's also a large loco depot and possibly a carriage shed.
(excuse the tracks not connected to the turntable)Due to using code 80 track I can't use double slips so I've had to try and work out ways around it using a fair few turnouts in a row, it's messy, but should work.

On the left hand side of the board is mostly green scenery, as I love watching trains pass through the country side, this will hopefully include a 800mm long viaduct. There'll also be a small factory there, possibly a brewery, yet to be decided to allow for some shunting and again something for the viewer to watch moving.

I'm trying to figure out ways of having more mobile things on the layout, I've been looking at Magnorail for movement of cars, bikes and a long boat.
I'm also tinkering with the idea of having 1/144 planes flying over somehow.

This is a rough draft and will take a lot more editing and fine tuning, adding in the specific buildings, labels etc, but it's the basic idea of what I want to achieve.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

I also have another track plan I'm working on where everything is in front of the operator, but it's no where near ready yet.

Hi PHIL it's going to be quite big should be impressive seeing trains snaking through the layout.

Two things you could do, one a crossover from the outer main to the inner main at the left side so you can access the ladder of points onthe inner main across to the yard.
With the Colliery you could have a release to the rear storage yards as well then you could run empty's in full trains out this would also need the crossover from the outer main at the front.

No matter how you do it it's going to look impressive

I'll try and fit the Winchester Hotel in the city area on this board.

I just had an idea to try and fit a model village in my model village. Why didn't I do that on Sandford?!
The name of this layout might change to Buford Abbey which is referenced to in Hot Fuzz as a bunch of heathens when Leslie Tiller is moving.
So this layout might be the bigger brother of Sandford.
