90 wagons ..... Geezo. It would take half a day just getting them on the rails Look forward to seeing your chimney pots.
Gormo's modified chimney pots on trial. As seen not yet painted. I might turn the top lip down more as it seems over size. I will do some searching for pictures Peter Attached files
Well, that didn't take long. A photo of a row of English Chimney pots by George Garrigues on Wikipedia. As you can see the lip is smaller in proportion to the pot height. Attached files
Hi Peter, Congratulations on your picture of the week. Some inspirational work there and a fantastic MPD scene. Toto
Thanks for the compliments. I have spent most of my free time this weekend fitting speakers, cab lights and Loksound V4 decoder with Legoman Biffo's sound with drivelock to my Class 23 Baby Deltic. I am about 3/4 of the way finished and will finish it tomorrow. When its done, I will be concentrating on getting more of the scenery done as all parts of the layout are in layout mode. Roads to be finished, trees to be planted, etc. Peter
Finally finished the Class 23 today and tested OK. Good sound, independent cab lights. I will test it tomorrow and try and get a video up on youtube. As the weather is predicted to be cold and raining I will continue with more roads on the layout tomorrow. Peter
At the moment the score is layout work = 0. Loco alterations and improvements =1. I finally added sound and cab-lights to my Bachmann Class 45. The decoder is an older V3.5 with sound from Howes and as the loco had an 8 pin board, I ended up removing that and using a 21 pin adaptor board, fitted the V3.5. It took me 2 days of fiddling and adapting to fit then I fitted lights to the body and used a multi-pin plug and socket so I can remove the body easily if needed. It looks and sounds impressive. Peter
Hi Gary, When times available I have been spending time working on the colliery. I bought a Hornby Bagnall 0-4-0 Railroad diesel shunter from Hattons and have just fitted a decoder and lights to it. Also painting the colliery buildings and working on the sidings. I found a site in UK that does colliery signs and have ordered some bespoke signage from them (Sankey Scenics) so will be using that at the main gate and on site. Photos to follow soon Peter
Looking forward to the update. I have purchased from Sankey Scenics previously, they have some great products. Cheers, Gary.
It's a small world!! I've just ordered bespoke signs for Sheringbourne!! They have a good website and I've used their stuff before.. Cheers Ron Having said that I've had 2 emails returned???
Ron, I have had no problems contacting Allan at Sankey using this email sankeyscenics@live.co.uk Peter
I sorted it out but used a direct email not the website email?? Must be my computer I guess, still the order has gone through OK..
Some shots of the Colliery area. Still a lot to do but the basics are looking OK. The first is the local Coal Merchants area where coal is bagged and weighed Peter Attached files
Next is the loco shed with the Bagnall in for some maintenance. I have fitted lights the front one is a bit too yellow so will see whats in the LED bin for a replacement Attached files
