I was at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley in my home county of Derbyshire on the Saturday, for a MERG meeting there. Returning from my car after lunch, I just managed to catch sight of this as it disappeared. Looks well in it's new coat of paint, doesn't it? Attached files
Today, I was over at my Sisters in Sheffield, just down the road at Dore & Totley station in time for what's known as the "Tin Bath" (Don't ask why, I haven't a clue!). This runs from Preston, Manchester, then through the Peak via Edale, through the Totley tunnel into Sheffield, then back to Manchester, as always, pulled by two "Black fives", double heading, not a common sight nowadays. Great pics, thanks for sharing. As for the 'Tin Bath' reference, you need to be a fan of the comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine'... For the uninitiated, here is the background: http://www.railwaytouring.net/uk-day-trips/the-tin-bath-1
