Well it looks like it's going to be a little track laying and dealing with the canal crossing today on Luib Bridge. I had been going to start my brass prolly kit but I've been summonsed by the track gods ( Ron ) to crack on with the track work.

No worries, the kit shall be started within the next couple of days. I'll be in the shed shortly, just awaiting Paul arriving from Dundee.

The plan is to fit a Y point bringing two converging lines together as it goes onto the bridge ( I think ) or running a twin track over. There will be two more blasé boards to be constructed after which there will be two fiddle yards.

So, for this layout ( or module ) there will be six baseboards in total. They will be wired up in such a way that I can use 2 / 3 baseboards at home as a short layout and all six when exhibiting.

Thats the plan. After the holidays are over, I'm looking for a trailer. Paul has volunteered to store it in his drive.

Catch up later with progress photo's.

    Cheers

    Toto.

    well,
a productive afternoon has been had, the old revolving bridge was dismantled on Luib bridge and a new fixed version built in.

    like that one.

The bridge has been made of a sandwich construction to reduce the flex.

    and another.

Once all the positions for track feeds and the cobalt motor were sorted out the track went down.

then it was tested with a wagon to ensure everything was ok.

    and another,
    [IMG]

    looking good,
    [IMG]

and the last one for now.

    job done.
I still have to connect the track feeds up to the main Track BUS and install the cobalt. thats the next task. Possibly tomorrow after dinner as I have a couple of domestic jobs to do for the folks first.
Basically once that is done and the layout has had a track clean and a test run, I will be able to start building my way out of the Canal basin area.
there is a little bit to be done to the edge of the bridge deck as it was cut to size but was out of alignment slightly. I'll need to graft a slither of plywood on to even it up a bit. not an issue as it wont be seen once the surface cover has been added.
All in all ......... a good day had. As always, a big thanks to Paul for visiting today. As usual it was a good day for a chat and a coffee.
thats me for now. I'm out for a pint with my dad tonight but might be on later .......... if I can negotiate the keyboard. :avatar:
    cheers

An enjoyable afternoon session at Chez Toto dans le shed.

So after arriving, plied with coffee, I was informed I was here to work - now there's a surprise :avatar:

Now there are a few issues with the "new cave" - he can't find where he's put everything, including the wad of paper for planning the next stages, and the pencil to use it with :whatever: progress.

The original plan was for a Y point on the bridge section, but it just wouldn't align correctly so was swapped out for a left hand. But did lead to the problem Toto mentioned in his post, so he has to add a few mm to the back edge.

    A slight amount of re-alignment - Toto's forte
    [IMG]

Then securing of things - in only the way he knows best, again with his tool of choice

    Installed and ready for wiring

Even the connection to the next board is ready

And the proud Daddy takes a piccy of the new arrival

We should see movement soon ......

    Paul

    Holey Moley Toto,

You`ve cracked on there in a short period.

Your shed and especially desk area reminds me of an aircraft cockpit. You just need a windscreen up there and you`re away.

Our time changes here tomorrow morning and I will be glad of it. I have never been a fan of daylight saving and I find as we come close to the end of it, I am more tired than usual. I think my body prefers the clock and the sun to be in sync.....but there you are????.....that`s life.!!!!

Toto by my reckoning.....in 64 days I will be doing an accreditation inspection of your shed. I think if the beer is up to standard and your dog doesn`t bite me, you may well pass with flying colours.

    :avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

http://www.click:tophat:Gormo......now off to my shed and back to filming this weeks exciting new episode of Gormo`s Shed!!!!!!

Don't know what Toto's on about, Lulu was very playful, excitable young pup, as long as you tickle her ears and tum, she was fine.

    Dog`s and me get on!!

Only ever had one that wanted to kill me but it was the kind of dog you wouldn`t have in your home. He was a right nasty piece of work. A menace to society. Lucky for him the owner got him under control.

Anyway I can tell by looking at your dog that she is everybody`s friend, but possibly a bit excitable because of her tender years.......and that`s fine...

Bacon sarnies ay.....we call`em sangers.....not too far removed from your description.

The perfect bonding food amongst men who have a leaning towards railways and engineering.

    63 coming up soon....:drums:

Heading off to the folks shortly to install a couple of rain canopies above their front and back doors. Shouldn't take too long as they are just light weight versions.

Back to Luib Bridge on my return. I've got electrics and a cobalt to fit today. I feel some double sided sticky tape being pulled into service here. :avatar:

    Cheers for now.
