My first question on the forum and I have to admit to being an absolute novice in most things, but especially electronics! I'm about to start the process of wiring up all my point motors to my control panel. I'm happy about the wiring of the circuit, with momentary switches and a CDU. I'm using PECO PL-10s point motors because that's what I could afford, I'm a pensioner on a tight budget and I got a reasonable deal on a bulk buy of used units. Question: What simple inexpensive circuit/switch can I use for wiring up LEDs on my control panel to indicate direction? There is only power in the point motor circuit when the momentary switch is flipped, so how do I maintain current for LEDs? Is there some kind of switch I could put in the circuit to switch between a red and a green LED and have continuous power to the LEDs? Thank you for any and all advice!
If using PL10 then fit PL13 to the solenoid & use that switch to operate LEDs and this http://brian-lambert.co.uk/Electricalpage2.html#Mimic
