Here's a few photos I took at Hartley, on a recent trip. It's a small almost deserted country town that could have developed into something much bigger and important, if it hadn't been bypassed by the railway. The buildings there wouldn't look out of place on a branchline terminus layout.
Great pics...what is the third one? Luckily it was not bypassed by the railway after all and is alive and well in my Dargan layout, where Little Hartley and Hartley Grange are quite well established. Cheers and happy modelling Richard
Great pics Richard. I also take photos of the iconic buildings in small towns. Whether that be churches, pubs, ware houses, mills, sheds or houses, each and every one has that little 'something' that you know would look great on a layout. Cheers, Gary.
We hadn't even planned to stop in Hartley but I had been driving for almost two hours and I felt it was time to get out of the car for a break. Hartley just happened to be the next place we came to. I had heard about it but I had never visited it before. While we were there I took a few photos - the funny thing is that we were going to spend a couple of days in Oberon and, for some odd reason, I didn't take any photos while we were there so, we spent a couple of days in Oberon, and all the photos I had to show for it were of Hartley.
