Thanks for the greetings everyone. Just to say a few words of introduction: My name is Martin and I'm an addict... whoops, wrong forum! I am a bit addicted to railways, and model railways in particular. I model in O Gauge, fine-scale, standard gauge. My chosen prototype is Australian, primarily New South Wales, both the Government railways and the private/industrial railways. I was previously involved with building and operating Stringybark Greek, and have had some involvement with the Arakoola. In the real world, I am a part-time university student, part time Church musician (Sunday services, Weddings, Funerals, etc) and I have several other interests such as involvement in a couple of bands (Drums and Fifes in one, and Pipes and Drums in the other! - Yes I have a kilt!) My long-term plans are to building a portable layout, probably a shunting layout a variation of the Inglenook. I own an Ixion H-class Manning Wardle. No, I am not interested in selling it.
great intro Martin. First of all ...... what tartan is your kilt in ? Mines is MacPherson although my name is affiliated to Ross or Dunbar. Now that the important stuff is out the way ........ great to have you on board and I look forward to following your various projects going forward. Meanwhile ..... That manning Wardle ...... get some photos up Cheers Toto
G'day Martin, welcome to the forum. Are you still interested in Sydney steam tram motors? All the best, Mark.
Welcome Martin, great intro! Nice to have you on board, as a fellow O gauger, I will be looking forward to seeing your modelling Cheer's, Pete.
The tartan is "Oliphant" - mostly blue and green. I'm not a piper, I'm a drummer. As a drummer, I play the traditional instruments for a drummer: side drum and fife/B-flat flute.
Excellent ...... can' beat the sound of the pipes and drums ...... and flutes. Oliphant you say .... need to look that one up.
