Here is a pair of Lionheart 14t tank wagons I've been playing around with.
I've still got a few little areas to attend to, to enhance them further.

Not a lot done over this last few weeks, due to some DIY requirements that has turned into Pandora's Box!!!!!

Anyway, here is a Sidelines D1782 60' TK Numbered M1499M, built and finished in a work worn/end of life condition for Steve Fay in Crimson and Cream livery.
The Sidelines kits are superb to put together, the only things I've changed are using 2mm brass angle for the truss rods, cast brass vac and steam pipes, Dapol screw couplings and Markits sprung buffers. I've used the Peartree 3'7" Coach wheels and the stones ventilators were produced by scribing 1mm PETG and painting the back grey. Notches had to be cut from the roof profile before gluing to the body to enable the ventilators to fit. Glazing is 0.5mm PETG which needs another clean to make it look like someone actually tried to clean the windows!!!!!

    More soon I hope ;)

    A beautiful model David :tophat:.
A few years ago I built 4 Westdale Thompson suburban coaches, the first thing I did with them was chuck the cast truss framing and replace them with brass angle.
Wish I still had them, in a fit of stupidity, I sold them and they don't make them anymore.

    Cheer's, Pete.

Here is another Heljan class 25/1 (Derby built) number 5191 of Crewe depot, early 1970's, pre TOPS condition.

Fitted with a Zimo MX696S via a screw terminal adaptor board. It is also fitted with twin bass reflex speakers of my own spec. It has the usual directional head code lighting, switchable tail lighting and switchable cab lights added.
A few pictures out in our lovely current sunshine.

It's quite similar to 5202 that I did recently, but I've made them different in quite a few ways.

Looks like pictures of the prototype, rather than a model.

    Stunning

And another loco has been completed.

Here is a Bachmann Brassworks class 04 diesel shunter. Numbered D2227, and finished in BR Green livery with a small 'Unicycling Lion' totem.

This loco has also been fitted with sound via a Zimo MX645R decoder and one of my own speakers. I've also fitted a 4700uF capacitor and directional lighting at both ends.

I have visited the crankpins, turning them down to a more reasonable size and losing the hexagonal screw head, replacing with two flats for tightening up. I think this little job makes quite a bit of difference to the Brassworks locos, and, although a bit laborious, it is straightforward to do.

A driver was fitted from the excellent Modelu range after being superbly painted by Claudia Everett.

Once all the technical bits were finished, it was glazed with 0.5mm PETG and then weathered with washes, powders and some colouring through the airbrush.

Hre are a few pictures before it heads home:

More very soon, could be a busy week this week, a Fairburn, another Rat and a couple of VAA's!!!!

    David ;)

Blood 'n' Custardy O gauge! (> OO gauge modellor)
First time I have seen this thread, read it backwards, skimming over the text and gawped at the pics.
    Got me good style!
Thought it was pics of prototypes. It took the whole page worth of pics before it sank in that these are models!
I'm still not convinced about the Esso tankers :scratchchin:

    Stunning work David.

Thank you for your kind words.
One of the reasons that I went to O gauge was the sheer mass and extra detail, but OO has its place and the detail and finish of some OO models is exquisite.
You have an interesting website, which I will peruse one evening when I'm not in demand for other chores.

    Thanks Rob.
There is a Fairburn, a Std 2-6-4t and a 4F amongst the next bits to be done!!!!
Oh and a J39 kit to be built, painted, sound fitted and weathered, I'm looking forward to that one as Jim's kits are excellent.

I have a Fairburn in the queue myself but its way back there with other priorities for the same person so it won't see daylight for sometime.

Here are a couple of Heljan VAA's that I've recently finished for a customer.

Both are in the Bauxite livery and have been treated to washes, powders, airbrushing, filters, painted repair patches, chipped paintwork, Hazchem panels, removed Hazchem Diamonds, etc
