It's all looking good Andy. I'm excited to be starting the structures over the next couple of days - All pages for 'A' have bee printed and sprayed with matt finish.

I’ve not sprayed, but then I’ve laser printed. Not sure if it makes a difference being heat fused? :scratchchin:

Laser printed should be ok if not sprayed - I use an Epson inkjet and their ink is pretty colourfast too. I really just use the spray to protect the sheets a little while cutting.

So tonight was a tad confusing. Had to go back to the computer and view the build instructions up close as they simply were not making sense.

To top it off, I spent a further 5 minutes looking for a paper top layer only to turn it over and find I’d already done it (leaving the part ID exposed instead of covered)

So the “D “ structure back wall progresses..

'D' is looking good. My 'D' will be a bit trickier as I need to extend the wall to the left another 2cm which will also mean extending the roof too.

    Andy welcome to scalescenes.

I find that the instructions can be unclear in places. Its usually the pictures.

I usually find out the correct way once Ive made a mistake.

Btw i like scalescenes buildings i have purchased heaps of them

The actual buildings are cracking.. solid structures.

But as you say, the photos are a little to be desired. Sometimes it may be worth saying - you need part x off sheet y etc - my stumbling was on page 12. I couldn’t see where these right hand bend parts had come from, it wasn’t till i zoomed in on the screen that I could see it was the paper wrapping at the fold line.

And that’s another issue, having to mark all the fold lines on the back before you cut them out so you know where the crease needs to be. Once it’s cut out, your reference has gone.

I’m convinced this one would be great in O gauge, and a pal of mine has sent me a photo of the one he’s building (not on here) which he is incorporating in to a layout. This particular design is genius and shouldn’t be limited to the four sides of a box file. :tophat:

I think it was Gormo came up with the tip, use a sowing pin/needle to mark out where the fold lines need to be by pricking thro' the front, turn the sheet over and run a pencil line between the pin pricks.

If I may be so bold as to say I suspect the dilemma you are encountering re loosing the fold lines needs a bit of thinking outside the box in order to overcome these issues. :avatar::avatar::avatar:

Another hour and half tonight. Windows printed (acetate is £3 for 5 sheets from Hobbycraft in Chesterfield)

    So that’s another bit complete.

Moved on to the wall on the left and the canopy.

And as they say on looney tunes.. that’s all folks!

Great progress Andy! I tried printing my windows on tracing paper but the ink ran. Then I remembered I had some Scalescenes window grime printed on transparencies so I placed that over the window print out and traced the window panes with a fine black paint pen - the result was great (I'll put a pic up later today). I think I will get a few colours in paint pens for future builds.

That may have been my next stop had this failed. The printer chewed up the first sheet so glad it was a pack of 5. (Despite only needing 4 windows and each page having 24 on it!)

I have previously used the Gel pens in white for windows, but not sure if bright white was right for this building?
