    Model Rail theatre.

    I love it.

    Its live Aid for model rail. When one act is done, turn the scenery around.
    Carl Arendt suggested an idea using scenic flats that you just place in front of the base scenery.

    I think your option is a leap above (no criticism of Carl intended).
