Just as it says ..... it is time to get something on the go. I still have a couple of prizes in the pot and ad I should be getting the prize pot topped up over the next couple of months, it's time to run last year's remaining prize pot down. I know of a couple of darstead wagons I still have in O Gauge so I'll announce something along these lines soon Keep you eyes open. Cheers Toto
Apologies, I'll look into providing something in OO scale shortly as well. Prizes to be announced Cheers Toto
Ok, Given the celebration of recent historical events I've decided to start up a competition to the same theme. D day. What I am looking for is a small cameo depicting some sort of military theme. It could be a cameo from the beaches of Normandy, it could be a railway station cameo. Anything that suggests the landings or the build up / preparation of going to war. It does not have to have a train in it but can if you like. The emphasis is on the modelling aspect. The cameo can be as big or as small as you want in physical size and in any scale. I'll come back with more details ..... ie prizes, how many winners, submission date etc. This just gives you some thing to get the mind working and the chance to ask questions until I get the final details sorted out. Cheers Toto
Ok the prizes are quite easy ...... there are two Dremmel multi tools up for grabs. It can be any scale at all . The completion date is end of September ( the last Saturday) at midnight UK time. The usual applies ..... a blow by blow thread of your progress and you must post a thread referencing your entry. Ie Ron's military competition thread . You could have the best cameo out there but if your progress postings let you down ..... you may not necessarily be the winner. This will be based on quality of modelling, the progress thread and additional consideration given for any unique features / effort that you incorporate into your submission. Mods can also enter. Again ..... any scale .... no dimension restrictions ..... war / military is the theme. Please feel free to ask any questions for clarification. Good luck.
That is Sunday the 29th at 9 am for our Sydney-based members and 4pm on the 28th for west coast USA members.
Is there a message here ..... I really cant be be any clearer. If you need to be so precise then you must be running a tight ship. If you want to enter and have any concern..... submit the day before in order to make the grade. Please don't take it to the wire.
and the prizes .... ordered yesterday ...... arrived today .... now thats service. courtesy of platform 1 now ..... get entering. cheers toto
i might do a chip shop … they bombed ours y'know …. or ….. there was once a goat who went to war … mmm
A chippie or a pub. I think pubs were possibly the heart of community cities in the war. Some where with a feel good factor. Air raid shelters as well.
A quick reminder that the DDay competition closing date of end of September is drawing near. Time is running out. Toto
Mind your time ladies and gents. Not long to go and not loads of entries either. Don't let the prizes go to waste. Bag yourself a Dremmel. Cheers Toto
And ...... its closed ...... I'm a bit late in catching up with this but better late than never. And the winner is Ian ( Tinto) Volvo with his phenomenal military bridge campaign. Well done Ian ....... one dremmel multitool on it's way to you shortly. Toto
