Despite recording the lowest temperature in Australia so far this year (-12.3C) , the days have turned nice and warm at the moment allowing an hour or two in the sun Ralph. Make the most of it while it last me thinks.
    cheers

A beautiful sunny Sunday midwinter saw me enthused to do a lot of needed chores on the layout.
Structure repairs, fix loose microswitch and the big one .... return layout to purely O gauge.

    Looks much better now.

    That looks great Bob
Both the FEPV and the new Ballast down the middle of the tracks.
Looks like you had a prefect winters day, up on the New England today.

For the second day running the morning services are running late due to the icy conditions.

Meanwhile down the hill from me the Sydney/Brisbane line and the highway are cut due to bushfires.
    cheers

You wouldn't want to put too much of a train on that 41 Class... She may just overheat and catch fire !

Classic British engineering down under... :avatar::avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.

A visit to a distant layout that is under way. The owner has some health issues that is slowing progress but I was able to help in a small way.

He was able to do some nice work before being slowed down with physical issues.

Hi Chris, I didn't ask him the provenance of the tanks. I am not sure how long ago they were built.

I went to the AMRA NSW show on Saturday with friends.
Despite Arakoola being present the standout layout was for me 'Fingal' a OO14 (OOn3-1/2 in yank terms) Tasmanian layout.

Scratchbuilt down to having the wheelsets specially made, artistic scenery and expertly operated to entertain us punters. what more can I say?

Not much happening on the Australian front except the outdoor structures and siding.
While at Homebush Bay I did purchase a few more wagons for my British goods train. Didn't realise they were Tri-ang instead of Lima until I got home. Anyway the improvements to the 5 mineral wagons have been under way. New wheels and couplers ( Powerline dunny seats used in middle of rakes), painting and weathering has been done.
    P1020876 s.JPG

Today the coal loads are being made.
That probably gives me enough stock for the mixed goods, a couple more Lima passenger cars for the passenger train should be all I need to have an LMS running session.
    cheers

Five pommie wagons all in a row.... instead of some garish colours the collection looks a bit more realistic now methinks.
They can join their compatriots on the shelf until the winds abate.

Having a British running day today.
The new 16 ton wagons now enough for a consist on their own.
Does this mean I now have to find more items to make use of the few other goods wagons I have? What have I done ! :>)

Good to see the 16T minerals as a full rake.
