It is very exciting when you have a whole new system to learn, with so many more possibilities available once you have got it up and running.

    Well,
started off chipping 5 locos tonight, here they are,
first up a poorly taken shot of a Class 3F Fowler Jinty with running no 47673
    [IMG]

Then on to a Class 08 Shunter with running no 08823 in Malcom logistics livery. I bought this at the Scottish show in February.

Then on to my three Heljan Class 27's.
first up in British Railways Green Livery with Late Crest and running no 5370,
    [IMG]

Then in BR Blue with running no 5363,
    [IMG]

and then finally another in BR Blue with running no 5373,
    [IMG]

So ....... now you've met the victims ....... lets visit the scene of the crime. I'm only showing the one class 27 as they are all the same.
The lid comes off by prising the sides out about a quarter of the way in from each corner and once you have disconnected the plug in orange doofers at each end.

You can now see the factory fitted DC chip thingy.
    next up change the chip,
    [IMG]

and there they are above, a standard Hattons 8 pin 4 function decoder with back EMF.

One out ...... one in. takes all of about 4 to 5 minutes.
The 08 was next. Not to happy with it as the shell is a vety awkward fit when going back on. I may change the chip for a smaller mini decoder.

The Jinties photo never came out for some reason but after fitting the chip only to discover the shell would not go back on again, I refitted the factory fitted DC chip and will again need to order a mini decoder for the Jinty.
I am left with one 8 pin chip but have another couple of locos which will take it but that'll be tomorrow. I'll look one out first thing and get it done.
That is the fruits of my labour for this evening. now ....... time to go and see what everyone else has been up to.
    cheers

Witches cauldron - Toto's shed, explains the smoke and chanting for the decoder fitting :avatar:

Just as well Toto's not video'ng the install, watching someone fit a decoder with every finger crossed is a bit of a struggle.

The Jinty and 08 would benefit from a stay alive.

My latest interest for Highbridge is looking at an industrial warehouse building to fit the following area as per the sketch below,
    [IMG]

Its the triangular area to the top left. It will be hodge bodged from some Scalescenes kits.
ideas comments what ever are all welcome.
    cheers

Had a look about in my " filing system " and found previous copies of the Scalescene industrial warehouse kit that I bought previously.

It should give me some dimensions to play around with. Sort of glad I had them at hand as John Wiffen has taken them off line. I presume they are being revamped.

I'll use them for creating test templates as Paul has done with Vicky Road and get a concept build started as soon as I get the tenements finished off.

It's good to be back in the zone again. :avatar:

    Cheers

I'm thinking of taking one of the bridges ( nearest the centre ) out to give me more scope for the warehouse building.

Thankfully I never called the layout Highbridges :avatar:

Some ideas are starting to flow again.

Or link two warehouses / factories / boiler house either side of the bridge with a pipe bridge / walkway over the roadway
