    Good evening everyone,
An update for you all of our first outing at our own 16mm garden railway show at Exeter on 26th October 2019. This is our first time at Exeter and everything went according to plan. Our Lowen Railway has been posted on YouTube by Ghost on the line videos which is 2 parts. A great time was had by all especially our Cornish members who put on a fantastic display with their own scratch built locomotives, plus their static models. For those that don't know the Cornish Language Lowen means Joyful in Cornish.
We were hoping to attend the National Garden Railway Show next year April 6th 2020 with our portable railway but alas sorry to say they are fully booked so hopefully be booked in for 2021.
I have been asked by members on here for photos mar pleg which is Cornish for please accept my apology for not listing them as there was problems sending them to my e-mail address.Hope to let you know about future events in the coming months.
Also to say that Exeter was our last major show this year.
    My kindest and best regards,
    Gloria.

Great videos! It was nice to see Lowen in the flesh so to speak, at 9.00 minutes on episode 2, the locos and rolling stock are excellent, I particularly liked Victoria the vertical boilered engine.

    Cheer's, Pete.

    Hi Pete,
Thank you ever so much for your kind words. The lads did well publicising their locos , did you see 2 blonde ladies sitting down inside the layout one was me in a navy blue top. Next year there will be further additions added, with more locos and rolling stock and buildings. My partner built those tables in 4 weeks and still not finished yet.
Phil Parker the editor of Garden Rail was at the show and was very impressed with what was done and mentioned it was a lot different from all other layouts as it can be used outdoors as well as indoors and is putting an article in his magazine.
Steph my partner has purchased a vertical boiler loco and is working on it getting it to run as she is also a qualified boiler tester. As mentioned Pete we are hoping fingers crossed to take our railway to Peterborough in 2021.
How are you these days hope your leg is a lot better please keep in touch as there will be a lot happening in 2020.
    Regards,
    Gloria.
Ps hope your van is behaving itself these days Pete.

Yes did spot you! I was very impressed by what I saw, though I did notice that a lot of the layouts had minimal scenery. I suppose that the owners are first and foremost model engineers rather than railway modellers. Not a criticism, just an observation.
The van is ok,ish. I have noticed a funny noise, I think I may have a wheel bearing wearing out. It's got to last a little longer 'till I can have it sorted :(

    Pete.

    Hi Pete,
Yes I agree with you, a lot of our Modellers are engineers as 2 locomotives on our display were scratch built and were testing them. The scenery on ours is being built bit by bit as it started life as a demo track. Just for shows this year The tables were built in 4 weeks started in April as you may have read work is still ongoin at The moment. The Devon 0 Gauge Group who were there just have a basic display with no scenery or very little, don't know why though. my thoughts maybe the same a demo layout. Our railway is for gardens outdoor where a lot of scenery is the natural habitat our buildings are too heavy for the portable railway as they are in our garden. I am thinking of ways to build a station that can be used indoors and out.
So sorry to hear about your van Pete hope you can get it sorted out.
    Regards,
    Gloria.
