Thanks for all the welcome messages. I'm currently sorting my loft for a railway layout. I've quite a bit of 1930s GWR and Southern rolling stock and a good selection of engines, so I was thinking along the lines of a through station a bit Like Exeter St David's where the up line for Southern ran out from the opposite side to the up line for GWR - but on a more modest scale! I have a question which members may be able to help me resolve... (Is there a thread where I should put what follows?) There was a website which gave detailed advice on cu & shut remodelling of GWR Centenary brake and composites to form other Centenary coaches. Sadly that webpage doesn't exist. Does anyone know if it has migrated and if so to where? I've got J H Russell's book on GWR coaches s could give it a go blind, but I'd feel happier if I had a bit of guidance from someone who's done it already.
If you intending to do some cut and shut modelling of carriages then you could look under rolling stock. There is a section on scratch builds / kit builds that would probably fit well. If I have picked your question up wrong, please feel free to correct me John. Sounds interesting so I'll look forward to hearing more. Again, welcome aboard and thanks for posting up. Cheers for now Toto
