Good morning everyone, A bit more news regarding Narrow Gauge Garden Railways. We have been given a section of land for our Cornish Narrow Gauge Garden Railway Group, at Moseley Toy and Train Museum at Tolgus near Redruth in Cornwall. Ground work will hopefully commence in March 2020. This will be a permanent site similar to Butterly in Derbyshire but with our own design. Once built everyone will be welcome there is a cafe on site where teas, coffees and biscuits can be purchased and run by the owners of Moseley Museum with help from volunteers. Further updates to follow in the New Year. Regards, Gloria.
Exciting times ahead Gloria if ever I get to Cornwall I'll be sure to pop in, I like cream scones n' tinto ... (you have to pour the tinto first) .. until then your updates will suffice Ian vt
Hi Ian, You wI'll be made very welcome, not sure about cream & scones though . But never say never as stranger things have happened Regards, Gloria.
Hi Pete, Thank you I will certainly let you know. We have also formed a committee and hold proper meetings which is a lot better as you can converse with members of our group and discuss plans. We are very lucky as one of our members is a qualified surveyor so that will save us money. And we have our own bank account to put funds into which is great. Will keep you posted, Regards, Gloria.
Hi Ian, Thank you ever so much, its lovely to have members from Platform1 mrc that are supporting and behind us with our project, even though its not their Gauge of railways. My kindest and best regards, Gloria.
Good evening one and all, Just a reminder that April 4th is the Annual National Garden Railway Show which is held at the East of England Showground Peterborough Arena. Sorry to say it's a one day show held on a Saturday. There are19 layouts in scales including 16mm to the foot , 7/8ths 7mm narrow gauge ,G,G1 and G3 running a mixture of live steam, and electric powered stock. 100 trade stands and suppliers you simply don't see anywhere else.As well as manufacturers launching new products. Information stands and heritage railways. Model of the Year Competion. Member to Member seconhand sales and lots more. If anyone can make this show its well worth the effort. Kindest regards, Gloria.
Good evening everyone, A bit of good news for you all from a sunny Cornwall. Moseley Toy and Train Museum in Redruth Cornwall is hoping to open their doors on Sunday July 12th 2020. There are some exciting times ahead for everyone to enjoy, there is no entrance charges as it runs on donations only. If you are down this way please call in and visit us. There is a temporary track being laid consisting of 5 inch gauge and 7. 25, hopefully to have some locos running unfortunately it is only a short section of 50ft track. Work is under way for a permanent track, as the one laid is only a demo track this runs alongside their existing 2ft gauge track. Further updates will follow over the coming days. Regards to you all. Gloria.
Good morning to you all hope everyone is keeping well. Just an update for you all. Moseley Toy and Train Museum opened their doors yesterday 12th July 2020 1st time since lock down was eased. We had a quite a few visitors including families. Everyone enjoyed themselves Inc our volunteers who made it a great success so we'll done to them. My 7.25 loco and carriage which was run on a temporary short length of track made an impression and created interest and able to give rides . Also on display was my partners 5inch gauge battery operated loco as our railway is dual gauge. 2 members of the public who are interested in joining us have a 5inch steam loco which will hopefully be on display at some point. Regards. Gloria
