Hi Daniel, thanks for the comment. The concrete is done using AK Interactive's Concrete diorama paste. It's too course for 4mm scale as it comes and needs sanding down once set to reduce the effect. I've actually scrapped the roof of this building now, the corrugations really didn't work for me, and replaced it with a slate roof. Matt
I thought that might be the case, I've been using it myself, but thought it looked a bit different - I hadn't accounted for the sanding. Great call, I'm going to do that myself on my HO layout now.
Took delivery of this today, destined eventually to be repainted orange to represent ECC's P403D "Denise" (or at least based on Denise, I'll probably call mine something different). A lovely little loco, and a good, slow runner from the box too. Matt
I have to admit I do love those sentinels. Alas one I'm after is the 6 wheeled version as was used by the Coalite fuels plant that my childhood home used to overlook. I'm hoping someone comes out with a RTR version at some point.
I used to like watching those pottering around the stock yard from up the towers on the chemicals side, and the class 20's bringing coal in! Pete.
Working on various stock projects has given me the opportunity to reassess this layout. The original trackplan was going to be: I've been doing a lot of research into clay facilities, and I think the trackplan is too complicated. So, I'm going to lose the very short run round loop as the majority of the time trains seem to be propelled, rather than hauled loco first, especially for the smaller backwater dries like I'm trying to represent. Plus, I don't really like running trains, and I might actually lay some track if it's even simpler! Matt
Those Sentinels are great little locos. I have one in my collection, the red Esso livery 4wDM 0-4-0. I trust you will be using electrofrog points on this layout as the Sentinel being an 0-4-0 won't like the long plastic frogs of Insulfrog points. Cheers, Gary.
