I've been looking for a 4mm stove to put in a 1930's station office but was drawing a blank for something suitable. After the "Shapeways" thread from last year I had not considered them, but thought beggars can't be choosers.
Lo and behold I found the perfect one, designed by Platform 1's own Andy Sollis, but it was in the dark side (O gauge)
I messaged Andy and within 2 days he'd rejigged his design to 4mm , posted it on Shapeways and sent me a link to it. http://shpws.me/RICz
Received it a couple of days ago. Assembled and painted, it's now in place and really looks the part. Unfortunately my camera won't focus well enough to post a photo.
I'd just like to say thanks again to Andy (I have no connection except as a fellow forum member.)
One tip that Andy gave me was to order other items at the same time to make the P&P from Holland better value.

    Cheers

    Cheers Jim.

Shame about the camera, but really pleased you like the stove - did the top detail still come out ?

    Yes,really well.

I used a very thin primer and then a Staedtler permanent marker. This gives it a black coat but with a metallic sheen. This stops the fine detail getting clogged.
Looks just like somebody buffs it up every day.
