So at the moment, the engine shed is still sitting as a pile of parts. I’m still looking at the lighting to fit, and how.
Then in need to build the walls. The fact we have had the recent crap weather in the UK has not helped and damp in the shed has kind of suggested it’s not a good idea to be placing a paper/card model in there at the moment, so the project has simply been put on hold.
Hopefully I may progress more tomorrow night. (If I can find some Lego to clamp it to!)

So after scrattling in the Lego box this morning (well, that’s the sound it makes) I managed to muster enough bricks to build some walls to clip one or two parts to. The first four corners have now been glued and left to set. This is the short outside wall and the internal wall. I hope once is set to turn this though 180 and use the same brick placements.

First four walls glued, last two joins now setting.

roof one loose in place. Large roof trimmed. No idea why but was over length.?

Down side to having used a “pritt-stick” is occasionally the glue dries out and some bits come unstuck... so a quick dab around with some of the paper overlays has restored the look.
Doors to secure to the building. I’ll probably glue the roof, although I really didn’t want to. I was hoping to have a lift off roof for access. Otherwise it’s lift the whole building jobbie to access the locos. Ok for me but not sure about an 11 year old.

guttering to finish - then on to the floors. Need to trim out the track, which may need a little alignment tweak.

Took some time to trial the lighting.
Ideally I want to space them out more. I’m simply using the micro LED’s that come as a string from a “bottle cork” to initially illuminate. But they are too close and only cover the large roof.

I hope you like the initial effect.

Andy the lighting gives an atmospheric feel to the engine shed.

Looking really good Andy. So did you work out why the roof was too long ??

    Cheers, Gary.

Actually, no. The only thing I can think of is if one of the sheets was printed at “scale to fit” on A4 rather than 100%?

    everything else has matched up.

Trimmed a bit off and good fit. Just the smoke vents to fit on this part. Dad has opted to leave the roof loose.
